In creating our project, the main issue that we decided to solve was the pollution that arose from energy production. This type of pollution is very wasteful, and emits a lot of CO2 to the atmosphere, harming the Earth's ozone layer. Our solution was to create a mechanism that could be attached to a standard exercise bike, which would then, in turn, create energy which could be stored in a battery, and used later. This battery would charge up very fast, due to the usage of multiple gears used in the mechanism, each gear increasing the RPM of the next, turning the motor faster, which then
creates more power. Our group won the $10,000 prize of the Ford NGL STEAM competition, and placed second in the nation. We are continuing to advance our project, and continue to try and change the world.
